Quick start
A useful check, with a clear scope.
Afterward is an MCP server that deterministically inspects public websites. Your MCP client provides the reasoning and explanation; the scanner itself does not call an AI model.
Connect your MCP client
Add the Afterward server URL to ChatGPT, Claude, Codex or another MCP client. Step-by-step instructions are on the connection page.
Call the audit tool
Ask in plain language, for example “Check example.com before I launch it.” Your client calls the single tool:
{
"name": "scan_website",
"arguments": {
"url": "https://example.com",
"maxPages": 10
}
}The result includes a launch-readiness score, severity counts, and findings with stable check identifiers, descriptions, affected URLs, evidence, and suggested actions where available. The same site responses always produce the same findings and score.
What is inspected?
Availability, HTTPS, redirects, status codes, server-delivered HTML, titles, descriptions, canonical tags, viewport, Open Graph, sitemap, robots.txt, links, image alt text, forms, starter content, analytics, and common security-hardening headers.
Conservative by design
Scans use 10 pages by default, at most 25 pages, a depth of two links from the homepage, at most two requests at a time to a site, and a 60-second deadline. Private network destinations are blocked. JavaScript is not executed, and forms are never submitted. A partial scan is identified explicitly. More about the Afterward crawler.
Free audits are rate limited, currently to 5 every 10 minutes, so the service stays fast for everyone.
The score indicates launch readiness. It is not a security, compliance, search-ranking, or full accessibility score.

Coming soon
Authenticated MCP tools for account sites, history, and regressions are planned. Current MCP access is anonymous and supports one-off audits.
